Determing Mite Levels

Paul Raybold, New Jersey's Apiarist, demonstrates how to conduct a "sugar roll" to determine the level of Varroa mite infestation in a honeybee hive to provided a basis for treatment decisions. This was just one a many IPM (integrated pest management) techniques that were demonstrated at the May, 2004 NJBA Spring Meeting.
